The book explains why a contract is important, how a contract comes about and what to look out for from a legal perspective when drafting and negotiating contracts in a way that is also understandable for non-lawyers. The book first provides an overview of the special features of general terms and conditions (GTC) and deals in detail with the most important provisions in contracts in general (e.g. warranty, liability) and the special features and deviations in IT contracts (e.g. further development and maintenance of software, availability, SLAs, etc.). The book is rounded off by behavioral and negotiation tips for the conclusion and the presentation of causes of problems and appropriate countermeasures in the implementation of IT contracts.
